Nimbus Sport Tender 35: A Stunning New Sport Cruiser Built for Life on the Water

Nimbus has just pulled the cover off one of the most anticipated boats of the year. On June 25, 2026, the Swedish builder revealed the first images of the Nimbus Sport Tender 35, the debut model in an all-new Sport Cruiser 35 series and one of the clearest expressions yet of the Scandinavian design thinking that has guided the brand since 1968.

If you have ever spent a day aboard a Nimbus, the philosophy will feel familiar. The Sport Tender 35 was not designed around the person at the helm. It was designed around the entire day and everyone who comes along for it, the kids, the friends, the swim before the wind picks up, and the evening when nobody wants to head back in. As the company puts it, a boat is measured by the life that happens onboard and around it, and the Nimbus Sport Tender 35 is built to give that life room.

A New Direction for the Nimbus Sport Cruisers

The Sport Tender 35 sets the future direction for the Nimbus Sport Cruisers, much as the award-winning 495 Flybridge did for the Coupé Cruisers. It is an entirely new boat riding on a freshly developed, air-lubricated twin-stepped hull, and it anchors a three-model lineup built on a single platform: the Sport Tender, the Sport Weekender, and the Sport Coupé. The Sport Tender 35 is first out of the gate.

Chief Designer Joacim Gustavsson sums up the approach simply: “We never start with the boat. We start with the day.” Every choice on the Nimbus Sport Tender 35 traces back to how a real day on the water actually looks and feels, from the moment you load the cooler to the moment you turn for home.

Two Decks That Transform Through the Day

What makes the Sport Tender 35 special is how quickly it changes character. Both living spaces are multifunctional, meaning the boat you cruise in on a cool morning is the same boat you swim from at noon, simply rearranged in seconds.

The fore deck doubles as a secure working surface for boarding, loading, and handling lines, then opens into two broad sun lounges roughly two meters across so you can follow the sun all afternoon. Up to eight people can sit forward, with the gunwales shaped into proper seats and lockers running all the way to the bow, long enough for canopy poles, fishing rods, or a full day’s gear. A fixed bow ladder, proven on the 305 Coupé, makes stepping ashore or onto a low jetty easy and safe.

The aft deck is where everyone gathers. A large U-sofa seats six on a built-in laminate frame, and its clever three-part backrest folds into a sun bed, a sofa, or facing seats, or turns outward over fold-out balconies that bring you right down to the water at anchor. The galley is deliberately split in two so guests can still move through the center of the boat even with the canvas sides pulled out, and with a 65-liter fridge in the cockpit, you can serve drinks and feed the group without ever going below.

For owners who fish, a live bait tank can be fitted in the port aft locker.

Room for the Whole Family Below

This is where the Sport Tender 35 separates itself from a class that often sells only the captain a fantasy. Belowdecks there is room for two cabins sleeping five: a full-length double forward, two full-length berths in the mid-cabin, and a sofa berth that takes a child. The head is spacious, with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. A family of five can spend the whole day aboard and stay a few nights when the mood strikes.

A Hull Built to Run Dry and Stay Composed

Longtime Nimbus owners will recognize the returning sheer line, the long curve that restores volume, hull-side height, and a steadier feeling underway. Beneath the waterline, the Sport Tender 35 rides on a twin-stepped, air-lubricated hull, vacuum-infused around a Divinycell core to be light and stiff at the same time.

Nimbus has been refining stepped hulls since introducing them on the Nova R series back in 2000, long before the rest of the segment made steps a talking point. This latest version adds a sharper bow section and a deeper V aft, producing a boat that runs dry and stays composed when the weather turns serious. The result is the kind of confident, slam-free seakeeping you come to trust.

How big is the Nimbus Sport Tender 35?

It measures 35.4 feet (10.80 m) overall with a 10.5-foot (3.20 m) beam. Despite its day-cruiser focus, it sleeps up to five across two cabins, with a full-length double forward, two berths in the mid-cabin, and a sofa berth that suits a child.

How many people can the Nimbus Sport Tender 35 hold?

It carries a CE design category C rating for up to 10 persons, or category B for 6 persons in more demanding conditions. The fore deck alone seats eight, and the aft U-sofa seats six, so there is plenty of room for family and guests.

What engines are available on the Nimbus Sport Tender 35?

Buyers can choose a single Mercury V10 (350 hp standard, with a 425 hp option) or twin Mercury V8 outboards rated at 300 hp each. It cruises comfortably between 30 and 36 knots and runs past 40 knots at the top, around 45 knots with the twin V8 setup.

What makes the Nimbus Sport Tender 35 different from other sport cruisers?

It is built on an all-new air-lubricated, twin-stepped hull for a dry, composed ride, and it is designed around everyone onboard rather than just the captain. Fold-out balconies, a convertible aft U-sofa, a split galley, and a family-friendly two-cabin layout let the same boat shift from morning cruiser to swim platform to overnight getaway.
